Mr. Ronald Urlaub is a Certified Public Accountant with eighteen years of experience in governmental and nonprofit accounting. He has extensive knowledge of HUD regulations and GAAP requirements as they pertain to housing agencies. His experience includes auditing, consulting, performing review and compilation services for housing agencies, municipalities, and nonprofit agencies. His firm serves approximately 150 housing agencies in 22 states, varying in size and complexity.Mr. Urlaub has spoken at several training sessions at the state, regional, and national level. These seminars have included the interpretation of GAAP principles as well as specific HUD requirements. These seminars enable the agencies to remain in compliance with the latest regulations. Most recently, Mr. Urlaub has participated in transitioning agencies to the asset management model through seminars, consultations and work groups with HUD. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA), Association of Government Accountants (AGA), and Affordable Housing Association of Certified Public Accountants (AHACPA).

Founder Urlaub & Company, PLLC, specializes in providing accounting and consulting services to governmental and nonprofit entities. Accounting services include providing fee accounting services to approximately 150 housing agencies. Additional accounting services consist of performing audits of several types of entities including municipalities, non-profit corporations and housing agencies. Consulting services have included the design of agency’s internal control procedures, cost allocation methods, and assisting clients in the transition to the asset management model. The firm also assists agencies in the preparation of annual and five year plans and environmental plans. Additional services have included the development of a software system designed specifically for housing agencies. The software system tracks tenant household data and creates HUD 50058 forms for submission to PIC. The software comprises of the following integrated modules: Tenant Accounting, Section 8, Work Order, Waiting List Management, Inventory Control, Accounts Payable and Payroll. Urlaub & Company, PLLC, currently has ten employees. Of these employees, five have degrees in accounting. The other employees have degrees in business, mathematics and computer science.
Peer Review/Quality Control
Ronald Urlaub, CPA, has elected to participate in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Peer Review/Quality Control Program.The AICPA Peer Review Program is dedicated to enhancing the quality of accounting, auditing and attestation services performed by AICPA members in public practice.
A peer Review is carried out by another CPA firm to provide assurance that the firm has an appropriate system of quality control for its accounting and auditing practice and is complying with that system.
All professional staff are required to attend courses each year to stay informed on current laws, regulations and audit procedures.
